ZAJEDNIČKO ZAVRŠNO IZVJEŠĆE IZRAĐENO U SURADNJI S TALIJANSKOM ŠKOLOM
Opis odabranog projekta i motivacija za odabir
“The High School of Economics” in Zadar and “Liceo Linguistico G.Leopardi” Macerata decided to apply for participation in the project “ASOC – Interreg Italy – Croatia” to provide students with new knowledge and experiences that could benefit their education. During our first online meeting, we agreed to work on the project “Framesport” – Framework initiative fostering the sustainable development of Adriatic small ports . This project involves 28 partners and has a budget of € 7,138,832.90.
We chose to monitor the Framesport project because we believe it is important to support small maritime nodes that face challenges in fulfilling their roles. Additionally, the choice was driven by our deep appreciation for the sea and environment in general. The marine ecosystem is increasingly at risk, along with the associated trade. Framesport supports the integrated and sustainable development of the small ports along the Adriatic Coast through various initiatives, leading to economic and sustainable improvements. We conducted our work using data provided by the Opencoesione website and through our own research.
The Framesport project serves as an example of how technological innovations are crucial for port modernization. Our research aims to document the positive impacts of the project and disseminate this knowledge to the wider public. We hope for the project’s success and widespread recognition, supporting our ports. The technologies and lessons learned from this study are applicable to all ports in Croatia and Italy. Our goal is to establish the project as a standard in the Adriatic sea. As students, we cannot fully express the confidence this project and collaboration between our two countries have instilled in us. We were fortunate that during this research we found no obstacles, reinforcing the idea that no borders can hinder our access to the right information.
Opis značajnih faza istraživanja
The team of the school “Liceo Linguistico G.Leopardi” had the great pleasure of talking with two very important people: a representative of SVEM (Sviluppo Europa Marche Srl) and the mayor of Numana. First we must explain what SVEM is: it is a company that contributes to the development of economy in the Marche region, supporting the activity of the Public Administration through the development of local projects, European and International support for youth employment and the promotion of generational change.
The questions that have been asked to SVEM concern the Framesport project in general and were mainly concerned with understanding how the project was started and whether the objectives set had been achieved.
The mayor of Numana, on the other hand, was asked questions about the free bike system made available by the City for citizens and tourists: the aim, achieved with great success, was to reduce the use of cars and therefore support the environment more and more.
This has been made possible also thanks to the Riviera del Conero, an association in the Marche that provides for the collaboration of 16 regional municipalities.
Another important initiative was initiated by the municipality of Gabicce Mare: it provides for the use of an electric bus that connects Gabicce to the port of Vallugola. Here too, the aim is to reduce pollution as much as possible.
As far as for the school of economics, the starting point of the research in their region was contacting the Interreg branch office in Zadar. The Portnership team from Croatia had the opportunity and the pleasure to host the meeting in their school where the project manager of Framesport and his colleague taught the class about the project and cohesion policy of the European union. During their research, they came across numerous information about the plans for development and for the growth of small ports especially during an interview they had with the County Port Authority of Zadar. According to the information from Mrs. Branka Batur, assistant director, in the next ten years they plan to develop 12 ports they hand picked that would be a great candidate for the Framesport project because of their characteristics and the needs of the population that live near those ports.
From this interview, it became evident that their focus is to reestablish the connection between Zadar and Ancona by reinstating the timetable. At the conclusion of the interview, we were honoured to receive the Masterplan of the port development in the Zadar region as a gift, which will allow us to monitor the project’s progress after its completion.
Through phone and email communication, we also interacted with the Port Authority Umag-Novigrad. The director informed us about their goal to digitize the ferry ticketing system, ensuring that each ticket sold is stored in the cloud. This initiative will provide clear statistics and prevent data loss in the event of any incidents. They have also acquired a zero-emission boat and installed wide-range cameras for enhanced security and surveillance. In our communication with the Port Authority in Senj, the manager of the Framesport project shared their plan to install a new ramp in Stinica, enabling passengers to board and disembark from the ferry more conveniently, whether on foot or in a vehicle.
With the information gathered, we can confidently state that the Framesport project has had a positive impact and is receiving the recognition it deserves.
Prijedlozi i follow-up
We strongly believe that it is crucial for this project to continue in the future because, especially as the topic of “environment” often takes back seat in recent years.
We are committed to staying informed about the project’s progress and new initiatives, enabling us to contribute and support it further. We hope that over time the project’s goals will be achieved, and that a larger part of the population will become acquainted with it.
The team in Zadar will continue to monitor the small ports in their vicinity based on the Masterplan received from the County Port Authority. They will visit these ports to observe the changes that have been implemented and share updates on social media platforms they have created.
Everyone can contribute to improving the ecosystem and we aim to encourage our audience through our social profiles to actively participate in these extensive ASOC project.
We consider this opportunity to be significant, especially for a large number of teenagers, as they are future adults who must learn to protect the world in which they live.
